Lomo-Travelogue, Ha Thin, Vietnam

You seek a great fortune, you three who are now in chains. You will find a fortune, though it will not be the one you seek. But first... first you must travel a long and difficult road, a road fraught with peril. Mm-hmm. You shall see thangs, wonderful to tell. You shall see a... a cow... on the roof of a cotton house, ha. And, oh, so many startlements. I cannot tell you how long this road shall be, but fear not the obstacles in your path, for fate has vouchsafed your reward. Though the road may wind, yea, your hearts grow weary, still shall ye follow them, even unto your salvation
(Blind seer in O Brother, Where Art Thou? Coen Brothers 2000)

Superman

Wherever he goes, in this world or others, Superman restores order more efficiently and quickly than other Marine Corps put together. With a glance, he melts steel, with a kick he fells a forest of trees, with a punch he perforates mountain chains. In his other personality, Superman is timid Clark Kent, as meek as any of his readers
(Eduardo Galeano, Century of the Wind (147))

When Superman wakes up in the morning, he's Superman. His alter ego is Clark Kent. His outfit with the big red "S", that's the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Kents found him. Those are his clothes. What Kent wears - the glasses, the business suit - that's the costume. That's the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of Clark Kent. He's weak... he's unsure of himself... he's a coward. Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race.
(Bill (David Carradine), Kill Bill: Vol 2, Quentin Tarantino 2004)
